A unique collection of map images of our world’s continents and ocean floors.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ SAMPLE
**********************************
• When the MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ sample file (named "2.09 USA(NE)") is opened in Photoshop, it will appear on screen larger than actual size, depending on the size of your monitor. The size ratio indicated in parenthesis in the window title bar is not an indication of the ratio of screen display size to actual size, but of image input resolution to screen display size. Thus, because of the high input resolution of the image, "1:1" is not, in fact, actual size, but 400%. This can be a little confusing, especially as the images look good even at 400%! The following is a guide to the ratio numbers, expressed as percentages of actual size:
(1:4): 100% (actual size)
(1:3): 150% (one-and-a-half times actual size)
(1:2): 200% (twice actual size)
(1:1): 400% (four times actual size)
• Please note that these images are not intended for use at sizes larger than 200% (large enough for most requirements), even though their superb quality will tolerate enlargement with interpolation.
• The sample supplied on this disk has been cropped from a larger image of over 3Mb in size. Due to the capacity limitation of this disk we have selected a smaller area of the North-Eastern USA map that you can import into your DTP or image-editing
software for evaluation.
• PLEASE NOTE: The sample images on this disk are for evaluation purposes only and are copyright. They may not be copied or reproduced in any form now known or hereafter invented.
ABOUT MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™
***********************
MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ is a one-of-a-kind collection of relief images of our world’s
continents, countries, and ocean floors. Each dimension and contour of our splendid planet is portrayed in a meticulously detailed and accurate topographical computerized relief view. These images can be used to lend a fascinating realism to your artwork or publication, putting the whole world right in your hands to help you get your message across.
• CD-ROM Set
MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ is published as a two-disc CD-ROM set for both PC or Macintosh®
computers. Each set contains 74 projections, most available with or without ocean floors, and 76 global views – more than 220 map images to choose from.
• Accurate And Detailed Images
MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ is the result of 20 man-years of intense research and highly skilled map modeling. Each model was constructed from intricate survey data to recreate exacting land and ocean contours. The models were lit from strategic cardinal points and photographed to provide superior and more striking views than comparable satellite images.
Each image was computer engineered with the highest quality scanners and image editors to retain the integrity of the original models.
• A World View
Several spectacular perspectives of the globe are available in the MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ collection. These include regional views from high-interest areas of the world, global versions from strategic points, plus perspectives which are centered on major locations such as London. Each global view is available with oceans in solid black or shaded white.
• Flexible Applications
The maps are presented in a choice of either high resolution image files for the highest quality reproduction, or low resolution files for use with laser output or multimedia applications. The high-resolution versions are typically 2250 x 2600 pixels, making them suitable for output by imagesetter to fine halftone screen rulings. The files are in the industry standard TIFF format, and can be used by most paint, draw, and page layout applications, and many word-processing programs.
MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ are grayscale images, giving you the ability to apply your choice of colors through a wide range of the most popular DTP applications. Each CD-ROM set comes with up-to-the-minute tips on how to best utilize your maps with these programs.
• Easy To Use
All maps are referenced in an extensive catalog which is included with each CD-ROM set.
MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ also includes a simple viewing application which provides you with a quick and easy way to find and display the exact map you wish to illustrate.
The viewing application also contains important information, such as precise perimeter coordinates, projection details, vertical scale related to horizontal scale, original contour increments, file size (original, and if converted to rgb, cmyk, and eps modes), and image dimensions.
• A New World For Your Maps
MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ is a unique and uncomplicated way to dramatically enhance your map presentations. Used as backgrounds for your data, these maps will give your images a new authority and impact, whether your needs are for the highest level of professional cartography or merely for laser output as part of a report (many spreadsheet applications support the TIFF format).
Reproduction rights granted with your purchase of MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ allow internal use and, with free registration, almost unlimited† commercial use without further payment of fees.
†MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ can be freely used for most commercial purposes, subject to the conditions of the License Agreement shipped with each set. However, a few commercial uses – atlases, for example - may require further permission and fees before the map images can be used.

The CD-ROM also features a View Catalog which references each map and provides a technical reference database including file sizes and dimensions, contour interval, longitude and latitude, horizontal and vertical scales, vertical scale exaggeration and
map projection system.
• LICENSING:
Reproduction rights granted with your purchase of MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ allow internal use and, with free registration, almost unlimited commercial use. The only limitations we impose are that the MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ collection should not form part of an atlas or another clip art collection. We define an atlas as a publication of more than 20 pages in which the images constitute more than 50% of the publication.
• PRICE:
The entire MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ collection retails for £695.00 per set (excluding VAT), which, at little more than £6 per image, represents unbeatable value - and it includes reproduction fees (subject to the terms and conditions of the MOUNTAIN HIGH MAPS™ license agreement, included with each set).
